“This isn’t about going back. This is about life being ahead of you and you run at it. Because you never know how far you can go until you run.”
Visitors flock to Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May to watch thoroughbred horses compete along 1 and ¼ miles of racetrack. Cold drinks and and elegant hats line the raceway as fans enjoy themselves and stay cool. The Derby stands alone as one of the most fashionable events in all of sports. Leading the fashion are hats, of all shapes and sizes. One part Southern tradition and one part art exhibit, the hats of the Kentucky Derby are as iconic as the race itself. In recognition of this tradition, tea guests sporting their best headwear can win prizes this month. If you would like, men, sport your derbies and bow ties and ladies wear your most sensational millinery creations and step on in! If you’re not going to be at the 2018 Kentucky Derby, at this tea, you can still enjoy all its’ Southern charm and excitement.
