“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world, indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.
~ Margaret Meade
The 1970s made up a unique decade, filled with an eclectic mix of life philosophies, working moms, earth mothers, love and peace, war, bell bottoms, Gunny Sax Victorian styles, psychedelic mini skirts and daisies. If you were raised by crunchy granola hippies, you will recall there was a certain amount of embarrassment related to the food you grew up on. This mostly happened at school where you were the weirdo who ate sprouts on whole grain bread, homemade yogurt and fruit, while your peers enjoyed bologna & American cheese sandwiches on white bread, Hostess Twinkies & Capri Sun fruit flavored drinks. And if you were a mainstream kid your mom probably used time saving recipes like hamburger helper and Jello, while the earth mothers grew organic gardens and cultivated bean sprouts in mason jars. It was a crazy time of sharp contrast and exploration. Join us as we revisit this colorful era in history. With Peter, Paul and Mary singing background music, our servers, dressed in vintage 70s outfits, will serve up a delicious repast with a nod to both mainstream and counterculture recipes.
Our menu will include:
